If your oil pressure light is in, that means you are running below 8 psi of oil pressure during idle. That is dangerously low if you drive it...so if you need to start it to diagnose/etc, just keep the car parked while it's on.

Are you sure that you have that orange ring installed between the block and timing cover? If you don't have that, it's like sucking water through a straw that has a hole in it, and you won't get much if any oil pressure.

Also, did you have your block hot-tanked/cleaned?

Did you rebuild your oil pump when you rebuilt the motor?

Lastly, is the oil light broken? Like, did it stay on before the new motor?

ya im pretty sure that orange ring is in. when the shop rebuilt my motor they replaced all the timing gear.and covers with a timing kit. the only reason i have another one of the rings is because it was part of the other gasket kit.

ya it was hot tanked. new oil pump.i dont remeber if it was on before i had it rebuilt.

what im thinking it might be is my oil pan,its dented in alot in the middle next to where the drain hole is at. it might not be letting it suck up enough oil through the oil pick up .
. ima check the pressure in a bit. thanks for the help!

haha 2 more things fucked than the 23 flavors in dr.pepper!haha jk i like dr.pepper. well i got it off and there tiny little specs of metal, im guessing from the motor breaking in, BUT also theres a mark the oil pick up left that clearly tells me at least half the pick up hole was plugged up. the dent is pretty deep. so do u guys think banging it out, or replacing it would be the best option.
anyone have a oil pan already taped for turbo?????

little update. i replaced my old leaky power steering hose with some parts from summit racing and also had the bung welded on my oil pan.PEPE123'S KOUKI BUILD..:{p - Page 2 Photo-4
PEPE123'S KOUKI BUILD..:{p - Page 2 Photo-5

the thing is the guy i took it to,welded it a little to close to the screw hole,i think i still have enough room to tighten it but ima test fit it tomorrow.

heres some random pics PEPE123'S KOUKI BUILD..:{p - Page 2 202037_141199415953872_100001914439132_256469_4111169_o-1

What a Face shes ALIIIIIVE! again! ok so yesterday i installed my oil pan and waited for the rtv to dry till today, i was able to tighten the screw on ,the one by the bung but cutting a notch in my oil pan lip and using a wrench and im guessing banging that dent out of my oil pan did the job because no more oil pressure light! finally some nice progress!

BUT...earlier one of the fuel hoses squirted gas all over my shirt from a little tiny hole it had so i went to the ZONE and got some steel braided hoses i slapped one on just to test, ill cut it to length and tuck it tomorrow ,PEPE123'S KOUKI BUILD..:{p - Page 2 Photo2

i also got my sleepy eyes switch wires thru my fire wall and tested them. all good. my temperature sensor isn't working tho it doesn't give me a reading on the the gauge, its always been a little messed up tho. the black connecter broke off the small wire so i just put a female connector on there. could this be it the problme? I did notice that even though our cars came with oem upper timing chain guides that some of the timing chain complete kits don't offer that part?... so does it sound like the knocking coming from the front of the block?

im guessing the kit the shop got didnt come with it because the side guide wasnt installed at all. no it sounds like it coming right from the block.this kinda of crap alwasy happens to me Sad. ima call the shop tomorrow, the motor has a year warranty, but since i removed the oil pan idk if it voided the warranty. if the shop wont do anything about it ima just find some one to help me repair it and get forged pistons while im at it. if i have rod knock shouldn't my check engine light come on? i just replaced my knock sensor.

Just tell them that was already there. It should have the side guides too in any complete timing chain kit. It should've thrown a cel light as soon as you replaced if it wasn't working properly. Did the shop replace that too?

ok, so im motorless again. i couldnt figure out what the noise was, took the car to the shop so they could listen to it then brought it back we thought it might be the fly wheel i pulled the tranny everything looked fine, but like two of the flywheel bolts were lose so it might have been that. i pulled the motor today in less than 3 hours,Smile and took it to the shop anyways to get looked over and the top timing cover resurfaced, best thing is its all free! i installed s14 seat belts the other day thanks to onivea. so now i guess while the motors gone ill get some parts staked up and do a lil body work, maybe my 5 lug conversion.
