rev limiter
Im trying to remove the rev limiter on my single cam (ka24e). I read around and found out that for the twin cam model that you can cut the Yellow w/ Green line wire on the PCM. I also read that this same wire is the same on the single cam models. If i cut this wire, will it remove the rev limiter? Can anybody confirm my theory?

Re: rev limiter
I'm pretty sure if you cut it, your rpm and mph gauges also stop working...
Try wiring it to a switch?

Re: rev limiter
Cutting that cable is gonna bring you isht.
Just Buy a extra ecu and buy the Chip on ebay that removes the Rev limit thing. so you can swap it when you need take it to smog it.
i think it will probably trigger a Check Engine code.

Re: rev limiter
ok, first off do you have any mods done to your single slammer? if not then what is the reason for wanting the rev limit higher? your not going to squeeze more hp's out of it without hurting the overall well being of you motor in the process. Just my 2cents.

Re: rev limiter
1. Removing the rev limiter is a BAD isea
WHY: KA's have an abnormally long stroke, which means that they no likey to rev high. Even fully built Race-only KA's have like a 8500 redline... with your car being stock it is way too risky to have such a high revving KA.
The reason hondas and smaller motors can go to or past 9k is because of the smaller bore and stroke combo. It's even hard to make an SR go past 9k...
I would HIGHLY recommend that you dont lift your rev limiter
ALSO, if you have looked at any stock KA dyno's whether it be DOHC or SOHC, the max torque and power are no higher than 5500 if i remember correctly.... All you do when you remove is it winding out your motor and gaining NOTHING at all.
